Bo Zhang is an assistant professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Alberta and a registered professional engineer (P.Eng) in Canada. He is the founder and principal investigator (PI) of the at the University of Alberta. Bo is also affiliated with Reservoir Geomechanics Research Group and Centre of Computational Geostatistics at University of Alberta. Since he became a faculty in 2022, he has successfully acquired over $5 million research grants to support his multi-discilinary research in subsurface energy and resource development. Currently, Bo is supervising a research group of over 25 members, including 4 post-doc fellows, 11 PhD students, 2 MSc students, 2 data scientists and 5 visiting PhD scholars from geotechnical engineering, mining engineering, petroleum engineering, and computer science at University of Alberta
