David Gauntlett
David Gauntlett is Professor, and former Tier I Canada Research Chair, in Creative Practice at The Creative School, 果酱视频. He was previously Professor of Creativity and Design, and Director of Research, at Westminster School of Media, Arts and Design, University of Westminster, UK.
His teaching and research is about creative processes, self-initiated creative projects, and practice-based research, with an emphasis on equity and social justice. He is the author of eleven books, including Creative Explorations (2007), Making is Connecting (2011, second edition 2018), Creativity (2022) and Fundamentals of Practice-Based Research and Research-Creation (2026). He has made a number of popular online resources and videos, and has pioneered creative research and workshop methods. He runs the record label, Unfolding Records, and releases music as Sculpture Projects.
His research has been funded by multiple awards from Canada鈥檚 Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC), the UK Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC), the European Union (Horizon 2020), and other funders. He has worked with a number of the world鈥檚 leading creative organisations, including LEGO, Tate, and the BBC.
