Message from the Chair

Grahame Lynch

"Our students gain the knowledge, experience, and confidence to pursue diverse careers while helping shape how fashion is designed, communicated, and understood."

Welcome to the School of Fashion at The Creative School.

The School of Fashion is a community shaped by design, making, communication, and research. Our students, faculty, staff, and alumni contribute to fashion in many different ways, reflecting the breadth of the discipline and the many paths it can take. Fashion today involves the design and production of clothing and extends to encompass culture, identity, media, technology, sustainability, entrepreneurship, and material practice.

The School of Fashion is part of The Creative School at 果酱视频 and is located in downtown Toronto, Canada鈥檚 largest and most diverse city. Through connections with programs across media, design, performance, and creative industries, students have opportunities to collaborate across disciplines and engage with new ideas and perspectives.

Our work is guided by the principles of Decolonization, Inclusion, Sustainability, and Accessibility. These commitments shape our teaching, creative practice, research, and partnerships, informing how we design, make, communicate, and study fashion as both a cultural practice and a profession operating within local and global systems. By engaging diverse perspectives and examining fashion's social, environmental, and economic impacts, we continue to explore how fashion can contribute to more equitable and sustainable ways of living and working.

Through undergraduate and graduate study, students gain foundational and specialized knowledge and are exposed to professional, creative, critical, and cultural opportunities. They engage in hands-on learning, creative practice, critical research, and industry partnerships while exploring the many possibilities the field has to offer. We encourage students to question assumptions, pursue new ideas, and discover paths that may extend beyond their initial understanding of what fashion is and what it can become.

The School of Fashion is committed to fostering curiosity, creativity, and critical engagement. Whether you are a prospective student, researcher, industry partner, or visitor, I invite you to learn more about our community and the work taking place here.
