Welcome to the FRC
The School of Fashion centres inclusion, decolonization, sustainability and accessibility as its core values and positions the school as a place to inspire positive action and innovation grounded in social and environmental justice.
Our main goal for the FRC is to rework the archives 鈥� through expanding it or repatriating objects that have more suitable homes 鈥� by adopting these principles to further build the collection as a place that consensually includes the diverse histories and perspectives of the Global majority.
We recognize that archives are a space laden with tension, but we hope to sit in those tensions and communally build spaces that spur radical research and change within the fashion industry grounded in collective care.
How can the FRC help you?
The FRC is an exciting and progressive research space. We are a collection that values everyone鈥檚 own unique perspective on each garment and welcomes any new insights you may find. At the FRC, you have the opportunity to do object-based research and closely examine your fashion object in several ways. You are welcome to sit and sketch, carefully touch and explore a garment鈥檚 materiality, and to take photographs and notes. Our team is also here to help in any way that will best support you and your research goals.
